District Nurses

At Consultus, we understand the growing demands and pressures on the provision of nursing care in the community.  Our service offers the flexibility of 24/7 live-in home nursing for patients who prefer the comfort of their own home to the more impersonal and inflexible environment of a hospital, nursing home or hospice. 

We can work in partnership with the local District and Community Nurses to identify the appropriate level of nursing care required; we will then manage the consistent supply of qualified and fully vetted Nurses in line with your recommendations.

Following an assessment of a patient's needs and in consultation with the patient and their family, many District Nurses across the UK recommend the use of Consultus Home Nurses for a range of situations:

• Rehabilitation -  for patients who need nursing care following surgery, a period of illness, or hospitalisation
• End of life and palliative nursing as an alternative to hospice care
• Avoidance of hospital admission or to seek earlier discharge from hospital
• Critical care for all stages of the recovery period  
• Respite care, when a regular Nurse, Carer or family member needs a break
• Chronic medical illnesses such as Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neurone Disease, ‘Strokes’ or Parkinson’s Disease
• Mental health nursing; for example, for those with dementia and Alzheimer ’s disease
• Patients who would benefit from an alternative to residential nursing home care
