We are currently looking for Live in Nurses for the following assignments:
Registered Nurse with Mental Health Experience
Location: Suffolk
Duration: 6 months rolling rota of 2 weeks at a time
A caring and sensitive Nurse is required to look after a 72 year old gentleman living in Colchester. The Nurse should have experience of Parkinson's Disease, Dementia and PEG feeding, The gentleman lives on his own in a bungalow and needs assistance with all his personal care, although his independence should be encouraged as much as possible. He is able to transfer with one person using a standing hoist.
The Nurse should ideally be flexible, be confident in providing one-to-one care and be prepared to work as part of the community team, which currently includes a District Nurse, Community Psychiatric Nurse and a Consultant Physician.
Registered Nurse with End of Life (Palliative) Care Experience
Location: London
Duration: 2 weeks initially
An experienced end of life Nurse is required to provide care for a 54 year old woman living in Knightsbridge. The patient was diagnosed with Bowel Cancer in February 2008, resulting in an ileostomy; she has recently been diagnosed with secondary metastases. The Nurse should be intuitive, knowledgeable and be able to sensitively communicate with the patient, her husband and other family members.
The Nurse should also have experience of stoma care, pain management, syringe pumps and be able to work very closely with the District Nurse, Macmillan and Marie Curie Nurses, and the Hospice Consultant.
Registered Nurse with Post-Surgery/Rehabilitation Experience
Location: Kent
Duration: 10 days
We are looking for an outgoing and inspiring Nurse with experience in post-surgery and rehabilitation to look after a 64 year old gentleman, who has recently had a right leg amputation due to his poorly insulin-controlled Diabetes.
The Nurse should be adept and knowledgeable in dealing with diabetes, and willing to assit the patient to become as independent as possible within the constraints of his recent surgery. The Nurse should also be able to liaise closely with the District Nurse and Diabetic Nurse.
Registered Nurse with Critical Care Experience
Location: Dorset
Duration: 2 weeks (to join an established rota of 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off)
A gentle, thoughtful Nurse is required to assist a 62 year lady living in Weymouth who has Motor Neurone Disease. The Nurse will need to be proficient in tracheostomy care, suctioning and PEG feeding. He/she also needs to have patience and excellent interpersonal communication skills, as the Client communicates via a lightwriter and body language.
The patient lives on her home but is regularly visited by family and friends. The Nurse should be able to liaise effectively with the patient's family, District Nurse and GP.
Registered Nurse with End of Life Experience
Location: Oxfordshire
Duration: 1 week
A competent and caring Nurse is required to look after a 42 year old lady due to be discharged from a Hospice in Oxford. The Nurse will need to be sensitive and supportive of the patient in her transition from Hospice to home. Nursing care is only required for 1 week, as thereafter a personal friend (a Nurse) will be taking over her care.
The Nurse will be dynamic and proactive in ensuring all the right equipment is in place to care for the patient safely at home; he/she will also be able to work closely with all other healthcare professionals involved in the care package.
